Right to Abortion Initiative (second vote)
Plain-English Summary
A citizen-initiated constitutional amendment that would establish a state constitutional right to abortion until fetal viability, or later when needed to protect the patient's life or health. Nevada requires initiated constitutional amendments to pass in two consecutive even-year elections; voters approved Question 6 in 2024 with 64% support, and a second approval in 2026 is required for the amendment to take effect.
What each outcome does
If approved a second time, the right to abortion before fetal viability (and later when necessary for the patient's life or health) is added to the Nevada Constitution.
If rejected, the constitutional amendment does not take effect; abortion in Nevada remains governed by existing state law (which currently allows abortion up to 24 weeks).
