$15 Minimum Wage Initiative
Plain-English Summary
A citizen-initiated state statute that would gradually raise Oklahoma's minimum wage to $12 in 2027, $13.50 in 2028, and $15 in 2029, with annual cost-of-living adjustments thereafter. It would also remove several exemptions from the existing state minimum wage law.
What each outcome does
If approved, Oklahoma's minimum wage rises in steps to $15/hour by 2029 and is then indexed to inflation; current exemptions for FLSA-covered employers, part-time, agricultural, domestic, student, and certain youth workers are eliminated.
If rejected, Oklahoma's minimum wage remains at the federal floor of $7.25/hour, with current statutory exemptions intact.
